Weekly Beef Export Sales 05/22 07:35
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 475,300 pieces for 2025 were up 43 percent
from the previous week and up noticeably from the prior 4-week average.
Increases primarily for China (173,700 whole cattle hides, including
decreases of 200 pieces), Mexico (82,900 whole cattle hides, including
decreases of 7,000 pieces), South Korea (65,000 whole cattle hides,
including decreases of 800 pieces), Brazil (55,900 whole cattle hides),
and India (49,000 whole cattle hides), were offset by reductions for
Ethiopia (700 pieces). In addition, total net sales of 2,800 kip skins
were for Italy. Exports of 212,500 whole cattle hides were down 14 percent
from the previous week and 3 percent from the prior 4-week average. The
destinations were primarily to China (63,100 pieces), Mexico (50,200
pieces), Thailand (25,300 pieces), South Korea (23,100 pieces), and Italy
(16,700 pieces).
Net sales of 25,300 wet blues for 2025 were down 7 percent from the
previous week and 75 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases
primarily for Italy (22,200 unsplit, including decreases of 3,600
unsplit), Brazil (12,500 unsplit), South Korea (9,600 grain splits,
including decreases of 26,200 unsplit), Vietnam (3,100 unsplit), and the
Dominican Republic (2,600 unsplit), were offset by reductions for Hong
Kong (100 unsplit). Net sales of 6,200 wet blues for 2026 reported for
Italy (17,800 unsplit), were offset by reductions for Brazil (11,500
unsplit). Exports of 125,400 wet blues were up 8 percent from the previous
week and 13 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were
primarily to Vietnam (39,100 unsplit), Thailand (27,900 unsplit), Italy
(25,000 unsplit), China (19,700 unsplit), and Hong Kong (8,100 unsplit).
Total net sales of 41,000 splits were for Vietnam. No exports of splits
were reported for the week.
Beef: Net sales of 12,300 MT for 2025 were down 16 percent from the
previous week, but up 8 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases
were primarily for Japan (3,600 MT, including decreases of 200 MT), South
Korea (2,800 MT, including decreases of 500 MT), Taiwan (1,800 MT,
including decreases of 100 MT), Mexico (1,600 MT, including decreases of
100 MT), and Canada (600 MT). Exports of 14,800 MT were up 9 percent from
the previous week and 3 percent from the prior 4-week average. The
destinations were primarily to South Korea (5,400 MT), Japan (4,100 MT),
Taiwan (1,600 MT), Mexico (1,500 MT), and Canada (800 MT).
Pork: Net sales of 37,400 MT for 2025 were up 52 percent from the previous
week and 68 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were
primarily for Mexico (14,400 MT, including decreases of 100 MT), China
(7,800 MT), Japan (3,300 MT, including decreases of 100 MT), South Korea
(3,300 MT, including decreases of 100 MT), and Colombia (2,100 MT,
including decreases of 100 MT). Exports of 28,500 MT were up 8 percent
from the previous week and 9 percent from the prior 4-week average. The
destinations were primarily to Mexico (12,800 MT), Japan (4,400 MT), South
Korea (3,400 MT), Colombia (1,800 MT), and Canada (1,600 MT).
